Position Summary
The Medical Assistant works closely with providers and the healthcare team to ensure efficient clinic operations while providing outstanding patient care. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, able to multitask, and possesses excellent communication and clinical skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Document patient history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and medications as directed.
- Perform EKGs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.
- Coordinate laboratory tests, imaging, referrals, and prior authorizations.
- Process prescription refill requests according to provider protocols.
- Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
- Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain clinical supplies.
- Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic safety guidelines.
- Assist with scheduling, phone calls, and other administrative duties as needed.
- Work collaboratively with providers and other staff members to ensure efficient patient flow.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
