JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Nursing is to oversee all nursing personnel working throughout the hospital. They are also responsible for coordinating with the nursing managers to provide objectives, long-term goals, strategic planning, budgeting, scheduling and employee relation oversight.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation, modification, training and roll out of the new Electronic Medical Record, (Cerner)
- Establish appropriate staffing models.
- Create accurate Job Descriptions for Department Managers and charge and staff nurses.
- Assist in recruiting, vetting and hiring new staff.
- Aide in the planning and execution of preparing the new hospital for staff utilization and patient care.
- Participate in strategic planning for nurse recruitment, nurse retention, program development and physician relations.
- Organize and attend committees appropriate for nursing staff and other departmental involvement.
- Create new policies and update existing policies to help improve the level of care for each patient
- Ensure that each nurse on staff is properly certified and abides by the standards for care established by our organization and state and federal laws.
- Implement quality improvement programs designed to help us deliver the highest possible levels of service.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required (Master’s degree preferred)
Experience: 2 year’s nursing supervisory experience required. Prior experience as a DON or CNO preferred
