What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Operations Specialist position at Idaho Associated General Contractors?
The Idaho AGC seeks a proactive and strategic professional with experience in employee benefits to assist in the operations of the Idaho AGC Health Plan – the organization’s Multi-Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA) which provides coverage to thousands of employees across hundreds of Idaho AGC member companies.
The Data Operations Specialist will assist in determining eligibility of enrollees and will independently manage their enrollment in the Idaho AGC Health Plan. They will also serve as a key point of contact for employers and individual participants. The ideal candidate will possess strong personal communication skills and the ability to represent the organization professionally with an eye to the high-level of customer service expected by all Idaho AGC employees.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Health Plan Operations (estimated to be 50% of time)
- Timely processes enrollments, terminations, and changes for employer groups and their employees in compliance with internal policies and applicable federal,
state, and local rules and regulations. - Actively maintains up-to-date records and proper documentation for all plan participants within the Idaho AGC Health Plan’s benefit administration system.
- Provides proactive support to brokers, employers, and plan participants regarding inquiries concerning eligibility, plan details and policies, and enrollment
procedures. - Takes an active role in the preparation and manages the delivery of Idaho AGC Health Plan materials for use by brokers, employers, and plan participants including annual notices and summary reports, packets for new employer groups and plan participants, and renewal documents.
- Independently manages and tracks all transactions within the Idaho AGC Health Plan’s benefit administration system and assists with daily payments.
- Assists with data entry for group renewals and open enrollment sessions.
- Timely processes enrollments, terminations, and changes for employer groups and their employees in compliance with internal policies and applicable federal,
- Member and Employer Support (estimated to be 25% of time)
- Provides accurate, clear, and timely information regarding coverage, eligibility, and documentation requirements.
- Builds and maintains strong, service-oriented relationships with employer groups, internal company benefit managers, and plan participants.
- General Office Support (estimated to be 25% of time)
- Completes a wide range of office tasks including back-up reception duties, coping, filing, and record maintenance.
- Helps with Idaho AGC activities including events and functions not directly connected to the Idaho AGC Health Plan – many of which happen outside
normal business hours. - Serves as a backup to Idaho AGC financial staff for a wide range of functions.
- Fulfills responsibilities as a Team Member
- Attends and assists in the execution of the organization’s multiple events, many of which are after normal business hours and may require travel.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience
- Minimum of three years of data entry and/or administrative support experience in a professional business environment.
- Minimum of three years of customer service experience, preferable in an employee benefit, insurance, or other healthcare related field
- Licenses, Certificates, Registrations
- Valid Idaho drivers’ license.
- Ability to obtain a valid Idaho life/disability producer’s license.
- Maintain Errors and Omissions Certificate.
- Ability to complete a background check once hired.
- General Competencies
- Proficient in current computer technology with emphasis on PC and web-based applications and a working knowledge of current versions of MS Windows operating systems and the MS Office Suite/Teams.
- Proven ability to work independently in a professional team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with an ability to quickly identify and correct mistakes.
- Computer Competencies
- Strong data-entry competencies with an emphasis on accuracy.
- Familiarity with employee benefits administration software or benefit platforms such as Workday, UKG Pro, SIMON, ADP, Employee Navigator, Ease, or similar programs.
- Customer Service
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations and achieve a positive outcome.
- Experience in soliciting customer feedback and proactively responding to customer needs.
Job Specifications:
- Physically able to lift and handle up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to perform duties while standing, sitting, bending, and kneeling.
- Work weekdays between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary.
- Flexibility to travel when required.
