Location: Elementary or Secondary Schools, Nampa, ID
Pay Rate: $120 Full Day, $70 Half Day
Position Summary
In order to create an encouraging learning environment for students while their regular teacher is absent,
the Substitute Teacher will need to effectively manage and instruct the class. Some of the Substitute
Teacher’s duties and responsibilities include:
- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
- Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student
- Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Reports to office upon arrival at school.
- Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
- Maintains discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
- Ensures the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
- Requests clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary.
- Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Implements lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
- Organizes students for effective instruction.
- Dismisses all students from the classroom before leaving the building.
- Returns instructional materials, equipment, and keys to proper place.
- Complies with and supports school and state regulations and policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance withschool/state policies and practices.

- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed to assist students.

- Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Idaho identification.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
Salary : $70 - $120
