Maintenance Technician – Ida Milk LLC
Ida Milk LLC is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support our ESL and UHT beverage manufacturing operations. This full-time, on-site position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing processing, filling, packaging, and related plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, PLC-controlled, and process-instrumentation systems.
- Diagnose equipment issues using manuals, schematics, and P&ID drawings.
- Maintain accurate work orders, parts records, downtime reports, and CMMS documentation.
- Partner with operators, Production, Quality, vendors, and maintenance leadership to resolve equipment and process concerns.
- Follow all safety, food-safety, GMP, sanitation, and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Support equipment commissioning, audits, inspections, root-cause analyses, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of manufacturing maintenance experience, or at least two years of experience with aseptic processing or filling equipment.
- Technical or trade-school training, relevant military experience, or an electrical or mechanical degree or certificate.
- Experience with pumps, mixproof valves, heat exchangers, PLC-controlled equipment, pneumatic systems, and process instrumentation.
- Familiarity with UHT processing, aseptic filling, dairy or low-acid food manufacturing, and CMMS platforms.
- Experience with Tetra Pak, Evergreen, Statco, Robopac, Alfa Laval, or comparable equipment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, communication skills, and the ability to prioritize competing needs in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing and walking, working around operating production equipment, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Required personal protective equipment must be worn as directed.
