The Cancer Institute is now hiring for a team-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to work at the Boise and Nampa clinics! Position Summary & Highlights This MA position will be supporting 3 providers (different days of the week) that see benign hematology patients at both our Boise and Nampa clinic locations (see below). Please make sure you meet the Minimum Requirements below before applying. ***CNA work experience DOES NOT qualify applicants for the MA position. What You Will Do: While supporting these 3 providers, you will be working at the top of your scope of practice. This will include rooming patients, and related duties, completing chart prep, refill requests, following through on provider orders, and phone calls to patients providing results or answering questions. You will also work a lot on the computer including items in the work queue, scheduling new patients, scheduling patients for procedures, related appointments, and follow up visits and complete related paperwork. An ideal candidate will be an experienced MA who is passionate about providing care to this patient population. You will be proficient, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable and enjoy a fast-paced environment. You will have strong experience with EPIC and knowledge of orders. You will also desire being part of a strong team and enjoy connecting with patients and developing relationships with them. Work Schedule: 4 - 10 hour days - Schedule is still being determined, but will work at both Boise and Nampa clinics during the week and possibly the Caldwell location on occasion. Around the hours of 7:30am - 6:00pm. Clinic start and end time can vary based on physician's schedule. This position will NOT work weekends or major holidays. Locations: Boise Clinic: 1055 N. Curtis Road, Boise, Idaho 83706 (I-184 & Curtis Road) Nampa Clinic: 4400 E. Flamingo Ave. Ste. 130, Nampa, Idaho 83687 (Garrity Road Exit & Flamingo Ave.) This position may occasionally float to the Caldwell clinic to assist with staffing coverage. New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification (see below). Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA certification OR obtain/renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed below. MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Healthcare Association (CCMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) American Medical Certification Association (CMAC) National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire. *EMT and CNA certifications/experience will not count towards an MA certification. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year.
