Position Overview

The Sr. Inventory Control Manager – Central Team is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting inventory control operations across multiple high-volume e-commerce fulfillment sites throughout the U.S.

As part of our Central Team, this position will travel extensively to provide on-site inventory leadership, support new site launches and operational ramp-ups, stabilize inventory processes, troubleshoot complex inventory challenges, and help sites achieve and sustain exceptional inventory accuracy.

This role is ideal for an experienced inventory leader who thrives in large-scale, fast-paced fulfillment environments, enjoys working across multiple operations, and can quickly assess a site, identify gaps, implement solutions, and build sustainable inventory control processes.

Location: Central Team – Candidates must reside within 50 miles of an ID Logistics facility in one of the following locations: Ocala, FL; Somerset, NJ; Kenosha, WI; White Haven, PA; Frackville, PA; West Jordan, UT; or Henrico, VA.
Work Schedule: Flexibility required based on site and operational needs
Travel Specifics: Approximately 85% travel to sites throughout the U.S.
Competitive Compensation: Attractive annual salary ranging from $98,000 to $135,000

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a Central Team inventory subject matter expert supporting multiple high-volume e-commerce fulfillment operations.
• Travel extensively to supported locations to assess inventory performance, identify operational gaps, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Support new site launches, start-ups, ramp-ups, stabilization efforts, and operational turnarounds from an inventory control perspective.
• Oversee and evaluate inventory control processes, including cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, adjustments, stock accuracy, audits, and reporting.
• Establish and reinforce standardized inventory control processes, procedures, and best practices across supported locations.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory data within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related operational systems.
• Perform detailed root-cause analysis on inventory discrepancies, identify systemic issues and process breakdowns, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze inventory trends, defects, adjustments, variances, and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and monitor inventory KPIs and performance metrics to evaluate accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
• Partner with site Operations, Quality, Finance, Continuous Improvement, IT, and customer teams to resolve complex inventory issues.
• Provide hands-on leadership during periods of increased volume, operational challenges, process changes, launches, and site transitions.
• Coach, train, and develop site inventory leaders and teams on inventory best practices, systems, processes, and performance expectations.
• Support workflow and floor-space optimization to improve inventory movement, storage, accuracy, and control.
• Assist with the timely resolution of OS&D (Overages, Shortages, and Damages) issues.
• Maintain operational readiness and ensure supported facilities remain organized and tour-ready.
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with company safety standards and hazmat procedures where applicable.
• Present inventory performance, trends, risks, root-cause findings, and action plans to site, customer, and senior leadership.
• Build strong relationships across multiple locations and adapt quickly to different teams, operational environments, and business needs.
• Drive consistency, standardization, and continuous improvement of inventory practices across the network.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional education or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
• 5 years of progressive inventory control, warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Strong inventory control experience within a high-volume e-commerce, fulfillment, distribution, or similarly complex operation.
• Strong working knowledge of WMS, RF systems, inventory management systems, and workforce management tools.
• Proven expertise in inventory accuracy, cycle counts, reconciliation, adjustments, audits, and inventory reporting.
• Demonstrated experience conducting root-cause analysis, identifying inventory defects and process breakdowns, and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, trends, rates, ratios, percentages, and performance metrics.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, along with proficiency in Word and other business applications.
• Ability to use inventory KPIs, metrics, and data to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and drive measurable performance improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with frontline teams, customers, site leadership, and senior leaders.
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to coach, train, influence, and drive accountability, including with teams outside of a direct reporting relationship.
• Ability to quickly enter an unfamiliar operation, assess performance, identify gaps, establish priorities, develop an action plan, and drive results.
• Knowledge of warehouse material handling equipment and processes, including forklift, reach truck, order selector, and other MHE.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, metrics-driven environments with changing priorities and operational demands.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 85% throughout the U.S.
• Flexibility to support different shifts, weekends, new launches, and critical operational needs when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multiple sites or network-level inventory operations.
• Experience supporting large-scale e-commerce or high-volume fulfillment operations.
• Experience with new site launches, start-ups, ramp-ups, stabilization efforts, and/or operational turnarounds.
• Experience developing and executing inventory KPIs and performance metrics to measure accuracy, defects, productivity, and process effectiveness.
• Experience leading and training inventory control teams on systems, processes, standard work, and best practices.
• Experience with advanced inventory technologies, including barcode scanning, RFID, and inventory management software.
• Experience partnering directly with customers and senior operational leadership to resolve complex inventory and operational challenges.
• Demonstrated success standardizing inventory processes and driving continuous improvement across multiple operations.

Salary : $98,000 - $135,000
