Food & Beverage Supervisor
Reports to: Food & Beverage Management
Seasonal: April- mid October in Hoonah, Alaska
Salary Range: Hourly with bonus incentive
Summary:
The basic duties of the Food & Beverage Supervisor include arriving on time in the uniform provided, and overseeing the daily operations of the assigned F&B venue to ensure goals and objectives of the department are achieved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Points guiding principles.
- Overseethe schedule and work of assigned staffin the venue as assigned.
- Helpmanagementorganize daily activities related to food production and operations ensuring high quality and excellentservice.
- Serve on the line as a cook or a bartender, cashier, or food runneras needed to allow breaks.
- Work with management in tracking waste and end of month inventories.
- AssistwithmaintainingISPoperations manual,anddepartmentpoliciesfor employees.
- Ensure compliance with state and federalagencypertaining tofood and alcohol sales.
- Performs other related duties asrequired.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Extensive knowledge of food & beverage operations management a plus.
- Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set goals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or culinary management, or related work experience a plus.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking over 5 miles a day.
- Able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.\
- Willingto live in a remote,rural community.
- A valid driver’s license a plus.
- Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting.
- Able to walk on gravel roads in inclement weather.
