Häagen-Dazs Del Mar is looking for a dependable, energetic, and customer-focused team member who is passionate about delivering an exceptional guest experience.

We are seeking someone with previous experience working in an ice cream shop, dessert shop, café, bakery, or similar fast-paced food service environment who is looking for a long-term opportunity and is available to work up to 40 hours per week.

Experience preparing or decorating ice cream cakes is a strong advantage. If you have a positive attitude and are eager to learn, we are happy to provide additional training.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
• Scoop and serve premium ice cream while maintaining Häagen-Dazs presentation standards.
• Prepare sundaes, shakes, smoothies, and other specialty desserts.
• Assist with preparing, decorating, and packaging ice cream cakes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store while following all food safety standards.
• Restock products and supplies throughout the day.
• Perform opening and closing duties.
• Operate the POS system and accurately process customer transactions.
• Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail.
• Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive work environment.

QualificationsRequired

• Previous experience in an ice cream shop, frozen dessert shop, café, bakery, coffee shop, or similar food service environment.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic with excellent attendance and reliability.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and both opening and closing shifts.

Preferred

• Ice cream cake decorating or cake assembly experience.
• Food preparation experience.
• Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain one).
• Cash handling and POS system experience.
• Experience working during high-volume service periods.

Availability

We are looking for candidates who:

• Can work 30–40 hours per week.
• Have flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Are able to work both opening and closing shifts.
• Are looking for a long-term position.
• Have minimal scheduling conflicts due to school or other commitments.
• Can maintain a consistent work schedule.
