Senior Enterprise Applications Developer

Position Summary

Position Overview

This position sits within an Application Software Development division supporting case and program management applications. The candidate will build and implement new functionality and system enhancements, resolve production issues, and partner with Business Analysts to translate business needs into IT solutions. The role includes building out reporting and dashboard capabilities, performing proactive application monitoring, and leading system upgrades and enhancements.

The successful candidate will bring hands-on expertise designing, developing, and delivering Client-Server, Web-Based, Cloud-Based, and Mobile applications using Microsoft .NET / ASP / Visual C#, and will provide technical mentorship to a team of application, reporting, and query developers.

Key Responsibilities

•     Design, develop, and deploy applications supporting case and program management systems.

•     Provide mentorship and technical advice to a team of application, reports, and query developers.

•     Provide strategic technical advice to leadership, management, and internal customers.

•     Implement programming standards that support secure, defect-free applications.

•     Interact directly with government clients to define technical requirements for new initiatives.

•     Partner with QA/QC teams to ensure applications remain secure and defect-free.

•     Define and document development processes and standards for the application team.

•     Research and recommend new equipment, software tools, and related technologies.

•     Use monitoring and performance-analysis tools to troubleshoot and resolve application performance issues.

•     Update system and process documentation, including user guides, ER diagrams, SOPs, and Visio network design drawings.

•     Demonstrate expertise in conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty.

•     Identify improvements to project standards to achieve high-quality services and products.

•     Coordinate programming activities conducted by the application development team.

•     Confer with business and technical personnel to resolve issues of intent, accuracy, or feasibility in computer processing and project design.

•     Evaluate and recommend modifications or enhancements with interested stakeholders.

•     Leverage strong written and verbal communication skills to develop new business processes and programming solutions.

•     Identify best practices and standards for product usage.

•     Interact with executive-level business users or technical experts.

•     Function as a niche technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) as needed.

•     Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

•     15 years — Developing enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies within a distributed (n-tier) architecture.

•     13 years — Conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty.

•     13 years — Preparing complex technical documentation.

•     11 years — Developing applications using C# and ASP.NET.

•     11 years — Database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end (e.g., Cognos) / back-end (e.g., SQL) programming languages.

•     11 years — Developing enterprise applications that interact with MS SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.

•     10 years — Visual Studio 2010 and later, with .NET Framework 2.0–4.6.2, using C# and VB.

•     7 years — Strong ETL experience in Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence platforms.

•     7 years — Databases using ADO.NET.

•     6 years — Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).

•     5 years — Experience with JIRA, Bugzilla, or HP ALM tools.

Favorable / nice-to-have: Java, XML, HTML, JavaScript, BPEL, PHP, and WebLogic.

Minimum Education / Certification Requirements

•     Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience.
