Ab Initio Developer
This position on site in Woodlawn MD. No out of state candidates will be considered.
Introduction:
We are seeking an experienced Ab Initio Developer to design, build, and maintain enterprise-scale ETL pipelines and data integration solutions. This role requires strong hands-on expertise with the Ab Initio tool suite and a solid understanding of Unix/Linux environments, relational databases, and data warehousing concepts. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership on ETL framework design, automation, and performance optimization while mentoring junior and mid-level developers.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and test graphs and ETL applications using Ab Initio 4.
- Apply strong knowledge of the Ab Initio tool suite, including GDE/Co-Operating System, Express>IT, Data Quality Environment (DQE), Continuous Flows, and Amazon S3 utilities.
- Lead Ab Initio lifecycle analysis, design, implementation, and code migration efforts.
- Design an ETL framework for audit and data reconciliation to manage batch and real-time interfaces.
- Develop ETL jobs for automation and monitoring, and optimize job performance using ETL development tools or custom-developed procedures.
- Apply strong SQL skills to map and integrate relational databases such as DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Greenplum.
- Automate the loading of data from multiple sources into BI/MI systems.
- Analyze and develop optimal code to maintain high performance when processing large volumes of data.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective search features.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and deliver knowledge transfer sessions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable security, privacy, and data management policies.
- Brief management, customers, teams, and stakeholders at an appropriate technical level for the audience.
- Provide guidance and support to junior and mid-level developers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Master''s degree and 5 years of relevant experience, Bachelor''s degree and 7 years of relevant experience, or 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL pipelines and data integration solutions using the Ab Initio tool suite.
- Experience identifying requirements, researching options, and designing and implementing solutions at a leadership level.
- Experience scripting in a Linux environment to automate ETL solutions and data migration jobs.
- Experience with data warehousing designs and concepts such as star and snowflake schemas.
- Understanding and application of quality techniques and practices, including automated unit testing, Test Driven Design/Development, performance analysis, and continuous integration.
- Ability to support architectural/tactical thinking, information solutions, and roadmaps to drive architectural recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, with a track record of consistently completing repetitive production-like tasks on time and error-free.
- Prior experience working in a federal agency or public sector environment.
- Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies.
- Experience working on Agile projects and familiarity with Agile terminology.
Salary : $175,000 - $190,000
