Corporate Communications Associate – Healthcare Team
Location: New York City
ICR, a leading strategic advisory and communications firm, seeks a highly motivated individual for a Corporate Communications Associate position in its rapidly growing Healthcare team. The position will involve substantive work supporting clients in the fields of life science/biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology/devices, healthcare IT and healthcare services. This individual will support senior team members in developing and executing strategic communications programs for a range of healthcare clients. As a member of multiple client teams, the associate will help ensure seamless coordination across corporate communications and investor initiatives. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to gain exposure to the intersection of science, communications and finance.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support across multiple healthcare client accounts, ensuring projects move forward on time and deadlines are met
- Assist in developing client materials, including agendas, meeting notes, status reports, timelines, and presentation decks
- Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to support client strategy and new business opportunities
- Help coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of client programs across corporate communications and investor relations programsMaintain strong attention to detail across deliverables and proactively manage project timelines
- Build and maintain media lists across healthcare, biotech, pharmaceutical, life sciences, business, and trade outlets
- Monitor daily news cycles and identify relevant media opportunities for clients
- Draft media materials including press releases, media alerts, pitches, backgrounders, and briefing documents
- Support proactive media outreach efforts to secure earned media opportunities
- Track and report media coverage, develop coverage recaps, and analyze media outcomes
- Support the development and execution of social media strategies across platforms such as LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and other relevant channels
- Draft social media content including posts, campaign copy, executive thought leadership content, and real-time engagement opportunities
- Monitor social conversations, trending healthcare topics, and emerging issues that may impact clients
- Create and maintain Excel financial models and databases
- Develop analytical presentations using SEC filings and market research
- Conduct peer group analysis and institutional shareholder tracking
- Compile, analyze and summarize company, media, and analyst research and monitoring reports
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in investor relations, public relations, communications, healthcare marketing, journalism, agency experience, or related fields
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Interest in healthcare, including biotech and medical technology sectors
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-service environment
- Familiarity with social media platforms, analytics tools, and media monitoring platforms
- Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to learn
- Bachelor's Degree
Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
