Job Description:
It is a remote position, with the exception of quarterly meetings or when a provider requests an in person visit.
10 hours a week- flexible hours, but candidate would need to have some availability during clinical hours (7:00 AM-5:00 PM)
Requirement: RI Pharmacist license required.
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Education Specialist / Academic Detailer to join our team and lead provider education efforts around access to care for patients with rare diseases. This role will be responsible for the development and implementation of an academic detailing program designed to educate healthcare providers about the access model, approved model drugs, and claims submission processes.
The Public Health Education Specialist / Academic Detailer will play a vital role in bridging public health education with clinical practice through provider engagement, one-on-one academic detailing visits, and the creation of high-impact educational materials.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary academic detailer delivering structured, evidence-based education to providers and treatment centers.
• Support the development and delivery of academic detailing tools, guides, and presentations.
• Educate providers on the access model, model drugs, and claims submission procedures to improve patient outcomes and reduce barriers.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with clinical stakeholders.
• Monitor, track, and report program outcomes, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Stay current on emerging trends in treatment, drug coverage policies, and access barriers.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support aligned goals.
Qualifications:
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
• Possess a valid and active pharmacist license in the state of Rhode Island (in good standing).
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with patients with rare diseases.
• Strong foundation in public health principles.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage with clinical audiences in a respectful, educational, and non-promotional manner.
• Comfortable traveling to provider sites throughout Rhode Island as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience with academic detailing or clinical outreach/education.
• Prior experience with Medicaid or public health programs.
