Assistant Project Manager/Project Manager – APM in office with project site visits as needed.
As a design-build, ground-improvement subcontractor, we are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to oversee installation of our geotechnical solutions on multiple projects in VA/DC/MD. The position will have responsibility for contract review, project management, construction and assisting Senior Project Managers on a day-to-day basis.

In this position, you will be responsible for day to day management of projects, contract requirements, managing change orders and claims, monitoring and managing project schedule, cost control and QA/QC requirements, project invoicing, securing payment and assisting Senior Project Managers as needed.

Responsibilities

- Manage contracting, planning and construction of Ground Improvement, Earth Retention, Micro-piles and other Geotechnical construction techniques.
- Setup, establishing and monitoring the construction budget
- Project coordinator and liaison between client management, engineering, and field foremen
- Manage material procurement, activation of vendor quotes, purchase order and subcontractor agreement documents
- Monitor / review daily quality control input and final review/approval of QC prior to project demobilization
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have 2 years Heavy Civil Construction; with a BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management. Preference given to those applicants with: project management experience in general heavy civil construction, drilling, anchors, micro-piles, earth retention, grouting, excavation, solid familiarity with all project contractual requirements and proven experience working effectively as a liaison with Engineers, General Contractors, and Owners. Excellent computer skills and written & verbal communication skills necessary.
