Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
- Prepare patients for treatments by explaining procedures and providing comfort.
- Take and develop X-rays as required, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records using electronic health records systems such as Epic.
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments.
- Manage dental instruments and materials, ensuring they are clean and ready for use.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Support various specialties including pediatrics, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more as needed.
- Utilize advanced technology such as 3D scanners to assist in treatment planning.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is essential.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus.
- Experience with prosthodontics, endodontics, and other dental specialties is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using X-ray equipment and understanding radiographic techniques.
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes and electronic health record systems like Epic is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
