Job Description

Icon Structures is a growing general contractor for commercial construction providing pre-construction services, construction management, design build work and general contracting.
We are seeking qualified carpenters to join our team in the Eudora, KS location. We staff our projects correctly, our superintendents know how to build, and our leadership will allow you to truly be part of the organization (Your efforts will directly impact our success).
ROLES
- Perform general construction duties including, but not limited to, metal stud framing, drywall hanging, ceiling grid, install door frames, selective demo, rough carpentry, door and hardware install, millwork/casework layout and install, restroom partition and accessories install, finish carpentry, and general maintenance and repair.
- Maintain culture of site safety
- Work in collaboration with Icon staff, peers and supervisors
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, safety rules, procedure manuals, manufacturer installation instructions, etc.
- Ability to do basic construction math, including measuring, transposing, calculating cut lengths, and basic geometry
- Safely use and operate a wide variety of hand and power tools
- Construct, repair, restore, and install construction material
- Construct and adjust temporary structures (stairs, barricades, construction access, temporary partitions, etc.)
- Erect, maintain, and work on basic scaffolding and ladders for work above ground level
- Demonstrated ability to verify true/square/plumb using tools such as a plumb bob, level, tape measure, framing square, and lasers.
- Cleaning and maintaining order at jobsite to maintain a safe, organized work environment
- Operate equipment as needed (forklift, scissor/boom lift, skid steer)
- Ensure quality on jobsite and report any non-conformance issues to supervisor
- Perform other related duties as assigned
EXPECTATIONS
- Obtain and maintain OSHA 10 certification and equipment certifications
- Attend Icon's monthly safety meetings
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as a team
- Strong attention to detail and able to follow directions
- Immediately stop any work that may be considered a safety hazard (regardless of company affiliation)
