Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Staff Accountant role located in Los Angeles, CA. The Staff Accountant will perform day-to-day accounting activities, including recording journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, preparing account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end close. Responsibilities include processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, supporting payroll and expense reporting, and ensuring accurate and timely posting of financial data. The role will help prepare financial statements and management reports, assist with budgeting and forecasting support, and provide documentation for audits and compliance reviews. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and uphold company accounting policies and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation.
- Candidates should possess experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic payroll or expense reporting processes.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar), along with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and standard month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on-site.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; relevant accounting experience or internships are beneficial.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the confidentiality of financial information.
- Prior experience in a corporate or media/entertainment environment is a plus, but not required.
