Position Overview
Icon Construction & Development LLC, a well-established heavy civil and utility contractor headquartered in West Linn, Oregon, is seeking skilled Pipelayers with expertise in public works, commercial, and private subdivision development projects throughout Oregon and SW Washington.
This position focuses on installing underground utilities for water, sewer, storm drain, and dry utility systems in roadway, site development, commercial, and subdivision projects for cities, counties, ODOT, special districts, and private developers. The successful candidate will work in crews to ensure precise pipe placement, alignment, and connections for safe and durable infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and align pipes (RCP, DIP, PVC, HDPE) for water mains, sewer, storm drain, force mains, and conduit banks.
- Use lasers, levels, and transits to set grades and ensure proper slope and alignment.
- Perform pipe fusing, jointing, and testing; assist with trenchless methods like pipe bursting or CIPP.
- Excavate, bed, and backfill trenches while coordinating with operators and laborers.
- Follow plans, specifications, and safety standards for confined spaces and trench protection.
- Inspect materials and report defects; maintain tools and equipment.
- Participate in daily huddles and contribute to production tracking.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of pipelaying experience in public utility/infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with large-diameter pipes, fusions, and utility installations in Oregon or SW Washington.
- Knowledge of Oregon Standard Specifications and local utility standards.

Pay: $25.00 - $42.00 per hour
