ICNA Relief is looking for Volunteer Coordinator in Chicago who is responsible for recruiting, training, supporting, and retaining volunteers who help drive ICNA Relief’s local programs. This role works closely with staff and department leads to ensure volunteer readiness, engagement, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote volunteer opportunities via social media, events, and community partnership
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer data using Excel and Salesforce
- Monitor and analyze volunteer engagement data to inform planning
- Conduct volunteer orientation and training
- Match volunteers with tasks based on skills and organizational needs
- Foster an inclusive culture through recognition events and regular communication
- Coordinate with Outreach for drives across Chicago
- Address performance issues and supports volunteer development
- Ensure necessary materials and supplies are available for volunteer activities
- Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, nonprofit management, or related field(preferred)
- Experience in volunteer coordination or community engagement
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and meeting deadlines
- Highly organized and adaptable
- Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, and digital communication platforms
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Work will take place in offices, food pantries, storage sites, or at events
- Must be available some evenings and weekends, especially Saturdays
- Physical activity required (e.g., standing, lifting, walking)
