Candidates with upfitting experience are highly desired, but those with backgrounds in automotive, bodywork, industrial maintenance, or telecommunications installs (e.g., radios, alarms, GPS, or low-voltage systems) are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Install vehicle equipment, electrical components, and communication systems according to company guidelines.
- Safely remove and reinstall body panels, dashboards, and interior trim without damage.
- Route, secure, and protect wiring harnesses; perform soldering, fusing, and diagnostics.
- Troubleshoot issues with installed systems and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Pull and terminate cables for mobile or fixed communication equipment.
- Assist with installs of wireless or radio communication equipment where applicable.
- Complete accurate documentation, job tickets, and timesheets.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Work professionally with customers and teammates in shop and field environments.
- Stay current on new tools, products, and installation techniques.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in automotive upfitting, car stereo/electronics, or similar mechanical/industrial work.
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble vehicle interiors without breaking panels or clips.
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory, low-voltage systems, and wiring practices.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and soldering.
- Telecom or radio installation experience (LMR, GPS, alarms, wireless systems) a plus.
