The Unit Assistant is responsible for assisting with unit/patient care needs under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Assures smooth operation of the nursing unit by performing necessary clerical duties. Has full access to patient health information. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (36 hours per week)

Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current listing as a CNA with North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Service Regulation in good standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire.
- Medical Terminology preferred.
- Computer skills with knowledge of business software.
- Clerical experience preferred.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
