Position Summary
The Safety Manager will be responsible for the training of all employees on the Company’s safety and food safety programs in a manner that assures employee safety. This position advises and makes recommendations to the team on reasonable efforts to promote a safe and healthy workplace environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Create and implement standard operating procedures and safety program to promote a safe work environment.
Train all employees in regulatory compliance.
Train all employees as needed and responsible for the facility’s safety record.
Responsible for food safety training and managing the food safety program.
Support the monitoring of new warehouse employees.
Responsible for maintaining safety and compliance records.
Responsible for compliance with OSHA and all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) laws and regulations.
Manage the requirements for the 3rd party food safety audit.
Provide triage – first aid, fire, evacuation, weather, hazmat.
Provide incident and near miss support, including investigations, root causes and corrective actions.
Coordinate safety committee meetings and monthly training with all employees.
Adhere to Work Compensation regulations, including timely documentation and tracking.
Potentially manage other employees as the Company grows.
Required to attend advanced educational training yearly.
Responsible for physical security and security systems of the facility. This position will be one of the points of contact for responding to emergency situations outside of office hours.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
4-year college degree with major coursework in safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, or training or equivalent experience.
Working knowledge of the functions of material handling equipment (forklifts, fall protection, battery chargers, etc.)
Advanced understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations and requirements.
Certified in CPR and First Aid.
Advanced computer skills. (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Learning Management System experience preferred.
Managing expenses within a budget.
Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the staff.
Possess problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with demonstrated organizational skills.
Experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) preferred.
Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including evenings and weekends, if needed.
