What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Detection Engineering position at Iceberg?
Some security teams monitor alerts.
Others build the systems that detect the attacks everyone else misses.
We're looking for a senior Detection Engineering leader to build and evolve detection capabilities inside one of the world's most technically sophisticated organisations.
You may have built Detection Engineering, Threat Detection or Incident Response capabilities at AWS, Microsoft, Google, Uber, CrowdStrike or another engineering-led technology company. You may also have spent time in a smaller organisation where you had to build, influence and execute without layers of process.
That's exactly the blend we're interested in.
This is an engineering-first leadership role where you'll help shape how detections are built, investigations are automated, telemetry is leveraged, and AI is adopted securely across a highly technical environment. You'll lead exceptional engineers while remaining close enough to the technology to influence architecture, detection strategy and engineering decisions.
We're far more interested in the scale of problems you've solved than the number of tools you've used.
You'll likely have experience across several of the following:
- Detection Engineering
- Threat Detection
- Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR)
- Threat Intelligence
- Security Automation
- Cloud Security
- SIEM / EDR
- Detection pipelines
- AI-assisted investigations
- Building security capabilities at hyperscale
We're looking for builders, not operators.
