Position Overview
As a Food Equipment Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of commercial kitchen and restaurant equipment, including ovens, fryers, grills, dish machines, prep tables, and refrigeration units.
You will work independently in the field while maintaining clear communication with dispatch and customers to ensure each service call is completed efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment (hot and cold side)
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Communicate clearly with customers about repair needs and options
- Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and work orders
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards
- Provide professional, friendly, and reliable customer service
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in food equipment service, refrigeration, or related field
- EPA Certification (Type I & II or Universal required)
- Strong electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying environments
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Factory or OEM training on major brands (Hobart, Frymaster, Vulcan, Manitowoc, True, etc.)
- Experience with commercial refrigeration, gas systems, and food equipment services
- Prior field service experience in restaurants, schools, or healthcare settings is preferred, but not required
