What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Electrical Engineer position at Icarus?
At Icarus, we build solar-powered drones that fly at the edge of space for a very long time. This isn’t a job for spectators. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with the CEO and the core engineering team to design, build, wire, test, and ship real flight hardware from day one. Power systems, batteries, avionics, controls, harnessing, PCBs. You’ll own the electrical backbone of aircraft that operate where nothing else survives.
We want builders. No hand-holding. No fluff. No fake projects. Just raw engineering with flight on the line. You must thrive under pressure, learn fast, troubleshoot in the field, and push hardware to its limits. We move fast. We go to Mojave at 4 in the morning. We expect results and an obsession with quality and speed.
You will be a core executor of our flight hardware, taking systems from concept to reality and driving rapid iteration loops. You’ll work across avionics, power electronics, energy storage, integration, and bring-up of production capabilities. If you want real ownership, real hardware, and real flight milestones, this is it.
