Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and components for daily menu items, ensuring all food is ready for cooking and presentation
- Follow recipes and portion controls accurately to maintain consistency and quality standards
- Support the kitchen team by organizing supplies, utensils, and ingredients for efficient workflow
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety regulations
- Handle food with care, using proper knife skills and handling techniques to ensure safety and efficiency
- Assist with meal assembly, plating, and garnishing as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and supporting colleagues during busy periods
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling practices
- Familiarity with restaurant or catering operations and kitchen experience is highly desirable
