ICA Language Services is seeking experienced Post-DLPT/GRIT Korean Language Instructors to provide in-person instruction at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) in Monterey, California. This position supports advanced-level government language training for post-DLPT learners.

- Assignment Length: 10 May 2026 - 25 July 2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
- Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour
- Travel, lodging, and per diem are provided for instructors not residing in Monterey, CA
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Post-DLPT Korean language instruction using a variety of effective teaching methodologies to strengthen listening, reading, and speaking proficiency
- Develop instructional materials and collaborate with instructional team members on program delivery
- Administer weekly quizzes, assessments, and other evaluations to monitor learner progress
- Provide mid-course written progress reports and coordinate with supervisory staff to address instructional needs
- Integrate instructional technology and online learning resources to support independent learning
- Adapt instruction to meet individual learner needs, learning styles, and mission-related language requirements
- Perform related instructional and administrative duties in support of the program
- Assign homework tailored to the students’ needs and designed to reinforce daily learning.
- Provide exposure to appropriate skill development, idiom, and variant.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a foreign language, linguistics, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of full-time experience teaching adult language learners in an intensive setting (4-6 hours a day)
- Experience teaching post-DLPT or similar advanced-level language programs
- Experience teaching U.S. military or government language learners
- OPI requirements:
- Korean: ILR Level 4 or ACTFL Superior
- English: ILR Level 2 or ACTFL Advanced
- Familiarity with DLPT, OPI, and other government-administered language assessments
- Working knowledge of ILR and/or ACTFL proficiency scales
- Experience integrating instructional technology into language teaching and assessment
- Experience using online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Webex in teaching
Security & Access
Employment is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to obtain and maintain access to a U.S. military installation. This includes a government security investigation, identity verification, and compliance with installation security policies. A security clearance is not required for this position.
