Senior RF Engineer

I’m supporting a long-standing client in Cambridge — a high-growth RF/microwave technology business working across advanced connectivity, space, defence and next-gen comms systems. They design and deliver high-performance RF, microwave and mmWave hardware for mission-critical applications, and they’re scaling fast following major programme wins and a strong commercial year.

They’re now looking to add a Senior RF Engineer to their Cambridge site to strengthen their RF/mmWave capability and support the delivery of new, complex products. This Senior RF Engineer will play a key part in designing, developing and validating high-performance RF/mmWave circuits and subsystems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across the full product lifecycle.

Role Overview – Senior RF Engineer

In this position, you’ll be responsible for delivering robust RF/microwave designs, supporting new technology development, and ensuring high standards across simulation, test, documentation and product readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Technical

• Lead the design, simulation and development of RF and mmWave circuits, components and subsystems
• Perform RF system analysis, optimisation and troubleshooting on complex architectures
• Execute RF measurements, characterisation and validation on prototypes and production hardware
• Produce clear technical documentation including design notes, reports, test plans and results
• Ensure all designs meet spec, standards and customer/mission requirements
• Contribute innovative RF ideas to product and technology roadmaps
• Provide technical input into RFQs, proposals and customer discussions when needed
  
  

Project & Product Delivery

• Work with project managers and engineering leads to deliver designs on-time and to quality
• Support the transition from concept → prototype → volume manufacturing
• Collaborate with process/operations teams to ensure manufacturability and strong yields
• Assist in identifying and mitigating technical risks throughout development
  
  

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with electronics, mechanical, software and systems engineering teams
• Provide technical support to internal stakeholders and customers
• Present technical updates and design reviews as required
