Dedicated, self-motivated, part-time Instructional Assistant needed at IC Imagine Charter School in Asheville. Modified, year-round school schedule, working about 30 hours per week, does not include benefits.
Salary based on IC Imagine’s Salary Schedule.
Duties and Responibilities:
- Must maintain positive communication with students and teachers
- Work cohesively in a team setting
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff
- Utilize a positive reinforcement behavioral system
- Support grade level teams by carrying out clerical tasks.
- Assist teachers in organization of materials and classrooms.
- Carry out small groups as needed for grade level teams/ classroom teachers.
- Communicate with teachers about grade level and classroom needs.
- Support in classrooms during instruction, as needed, to help students stay engaged and on task.
- Independently executing said activities.
- Follow the processes laid out in the employee handbook, respond to emails in a timely manner, and ensure timely feedback is given
- Assist in arrival and/or dismissal, as needed.
- Provide coverage for K-5 classrooms, as needed.
- Provide lunch coverage for 2 classrooms daily.
- Provide recess supervision, as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
- Self-motivated
- Skilled in problem solving and decision making as well as observation, listening, and coaching
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Maintain effective working relationships
- Possess strong time management skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitask in a busy environment
- Proficiency with GSuite
Education and Experience:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- 1 year of classroom experience, preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, squatting, reaching and bending
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
