Dedicated after care assistant needed at IC Imagine Charter School in Asheville. K-6 grouping care after school on weekdays. Schedule must be flexible. Year-round school schedule.
The assistant will perform a variety of tasks including recreation activities, arts and crafts, sports, games, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must maintain positive communication with students
- Care for and work with large groups of young children
- Plan and execute creative and educational activities
- Be willing to join in with physical activity
- Utilize a positive reinforcement behavioral system
- Actively supervise and interact with children.
- Be a responsible and reliable member of the team.
- Interact with children in a positive manner.
- Continuously gauge the safety of students.
- Set an example for behavior.
- Execute Creative and Educational Activities that promote learning, socialization and creativity
- Prepare for the day by preparing snacks, setting up activities, etc.
- Clean up after all children have left.
- Set up rooms, manage attendance, prepare snacks, help keep things tidy.
Skills and Abilities:
- Work cohesively in a team setting
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- First Aid/CPR certified, preferred
Education and Experience:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- 1 year of childcare experience, preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to join in with physical activity
- Able to maintain attention and a high level of energy or excitement for extended periods of time.
