This specialist promotes the awareness and use of NOAA's tools, specifically focusing on the U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit (CRT), while delivering training and educational resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to promote the CRT and present it directly to target end-user communities.
- Conduct face-to-face and telepresence training engagements, helping users build skills to manage climate-related risks.
- Establish "train-the-trainer" programs and relationships with regional climate centers.
- Provide formal classroom instruction, prepare educational handouts, and conduct pre- and post-course evaluations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of National Science Education Standards and essential climate literacy principles.
- BS/BA in relevant fields
- Proven experience (> 5 years) outreach and education
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to understand science concepts and CPO educational goals and communicate to undergraduate and graduate audiences
- Familiarity with national science education standards and principles.
- Strong knowledge of NOAA outreach and education programs
- Previous experience in a similar capacity
