Description
Conducts assigned control assessments, collects objective evidence, and supports scoring under the direction of the Lead Assessor, ensuring strict non-consultative adherence to CAP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate practice and process implementation per NIST SP 800-171A objectives.
- Record observations, residual risk, and artifact traceability.
- Participate in daily assessment debriefs.
- Support CAP documentation and report preparation.
Required Skills /Education/ Certifications & Qualifications:
- Familiar with NIST SP 800-171/171A and DFARS 7012.
- Capable of quickly reviewing, analyzing, and documenting technical artifacts (e.g., cloud configurations and policies, firewall/network configurations, security tool outputs).
- Skilled in interview techniques and evidence analysis, maintaining a non-advisory role.
- Bachelor's in IT, cybersecurity, or related discipline.
- 3 years of assessment or audit experience, preferably within the DoD/Federal environment.
- Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA) (Required)
- Security , CISSP, CISA (Preferred)
- Cloud certification (Preferred)

- Evidence validation
- Translating DFARS and NIST requirements into practical client guidance
- Experience with mock or readiness assessments
- Exceptional written communication and reporting skills
