Role Description:
This entry-level position is designed to participant in the field of copier and printer servicing in a professional environment. Under direct supervision, the tech trainee will assist with office-based service equipment tasks, shadow field service technicians, and gain experience supporting service operations. This opportunity is intended to build foundational skills with customer service, repairing equipment, preventative maintenance and technical support.
Qualifications:
- Assist with routine office tasks such as organizing inventory, labeling parts, and preparing equipment scheduled to be delivered.
- Learn to identify parts and equipment used in copiers/printers.
- Shadow technicians on supervised site visits to train for the position.
- Assist with pre-visit checklists and post-visit service logs.
- Observe and assist in basic maintenance tasks in the office under supervision.
- Learn proper documentation procedures and service tracking.
- Receive training in workplace safety, communication, and professionalism.
Skills to Be Developed:
- Basic understanding of copier and printer functions.
- Inventory and organizational skills.
- Workplace communication and customer service.
- Teamwork and technical vocabulary.
- Exposure to service procedures and troubleshooting steps.
Supervision:
The tech trainee will be supervised until properly trained. While they may accompany a technician during site visits for training purposes, they will not be expected to drive, travel independently, or complete unsupervised offsite tasks until deemed ready for the position.
Candidate must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and insurance. The position is Monday through Friday from 8 to 5 at $22/hour.
