Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Digital Sales Specialist for the Storage Portfolio, you will apply your sales and product expertise to close business for IBM, often in conjunction with Business Partners. You will match IBM solutions to client requirements and sell IBM offerings directly to clients or through IBM Business Partners.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include

  • Develop and Maintain Expertise: Develop and maintain expertise in a designated set of IBM Storage offerings to effectively match solutions to client requirements.
  • Sell IBM Offerings: Sell IBM Storage offerings directly to clients or through IBM Business Partners, applying sales and product expertise to close business for IBM.
  • Understand Competition: Understand competition and develop appropriate winning sales strategies to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with Business Partners: Collaborate with Business Partners to identify and pursue new sales opportunities, leveraging joint expertise to drive success.
  • Match Solutions to Client Needs: Work with clients to understand their requirements and match IBM Storage solutions to meet their needs, driving client satisfaction and loyalty.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Ability to build a strong sales pipeline and effectively progress and close opportunities that meet or exceed targets.
  • A go-getter rather than an order taker. Someone who wants to win a deal rather than being comfortable participating in a deal.
  • Comfortable creating urgency; you don’t wait for buyers to decide when things move. You set clear next steps, timelines, and hold stakeholders accountable.
  • Strong client-facing presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of the storage portfolio and public sector landscape.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Takes full ownership of the entire sales process from prospecting through close.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex deal scenarios.
  • Team player and collaborator who works effectively across internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Exposure to Cloud Storage: Familiarity with cloud storage solutions and their integration with IBM Storage offerings can be beneficial in developing effective sales strategies.
  • Understanding of Data Analytics: Knowledge of data analytics concepts and tools can help in identifying client needs and matching IBM Storage solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Familiarity with IT Infrastructure: Exposure to IT infrastructure components, such as servers, networks, and databases, can aid in understanding client environments and developing tailored sales approaches.

Salary : $80,000 - $149,000
