Your Role And Responsibilities

Software Developers at IBM are the backbone of our strategic initiatives to design, code, test, and provide industry-leading solutions that make the world run today - planes and trains take off on time, bank transactions complete in the blink of an eye and the world remains safe because of the work our software developers do. Whether you are working on projects internally or for a client, software development is critical to the success of IBM and our clients worldwide. The Electronic Design Automation (EDA) organization within IBM develops software tools used in the logic design and functional verification of enterprise class microprocessors. EDA engineer’s responsibilities include research, design, architect, develop and deploy solutions that are driven by technology, manufacturing or customer requirements that automate the implementation of advanced processor chips are responsible for improvements to the design automation process. They also implement solutions for the chip design process that respond to timing and manufacturing specifications due to advancement in technology. To be successful in this role, the candidate should be able to work well in a team, have an interest in learning, be able to work/investigate on their own and be aware of testing best practices.

EDA develops tools in the support of hardware and semiconductors development that make up our industry leading IBM products. We are an elite team of Software Engineering professionals that pioneer innovations for the cutting-edge design of microprocessors and hardware used in IBM infrastructure including IBM zSystems, IBM Power Systems, IBM Storage, and IBM Quantum Systems. Development engineers on our team will participate in various aspects of the development, test, and support process such as Electronic Design Automation Software. We are looking for strong algorithmic programmers who want a challenge and enjoy working with teams to solve engineering problems with software

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • BS/MS majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as C/C /Java/Rust
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Python
  • Knowledge of Digital Circuit/Logic design/Algorithms/Data Structures
  • AI/ML skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Collaborative skills and ability to work in fast-paced agile environments.
  • Quick learner with business acumen.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Knowledge of computer architecture and micro-architecture
  • Programming projects with complex requirements
  • Understanding of Digital/VLSI Circuits
  • Linux experience
