Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Safety/IH Specialist, you will utilize your broad knowledge to recognize and evaluate potential hazards and recommend controls. You will provide technical direction and advice to management, developing and using advanced techniques to evaluate work environments. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Evaluate Work Environments: Develop and use a variety of advanced and innovative techniques to evaluate work environments, identifying potential hazards and recommending controls to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
- Provide Technical Direction: Offer technical direction and advice to management, providing counsel on employee well-being disciplines and regulatory requirements.
- Forecast Well-being Processes: Forecast, develop, and maintain well-being processes to achieve IBM objectives and regulatory requirements, maintaining awareness of professional advancements in employee well-being disciplines.
- Analyze Data and Design Programs: Work closely with physicians and nurses to analyze data and design, deploy, and implement proactive wellness programs that create a positive employee well-being culture based on prevention.
- Participate in Audits and Reviews: Participate in regional and geography well-being audits and peer reviews, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Bachelor's Degree
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Has a degree in Industrial Hygiene or Safety (Bachelors or Masters) with professional knowledge and ability to
- Recognize and properly evaluate potential occupational hazards
- Design comprehensive employee health, safety and health risk-management controls.
- Potential areas of focus may include chemical safety, laboratory safety, mechanical safety, electrical safety, robotics, material handling, contractor & construction safety, fire/life safety, and IH exposure assessments.
- Effectively works with other support organizations and senior line management and assists both employees and managers to understand and measure the value of proactive employee well-being programs.
- Industrial Hygiene degree (bachelors or masters)
- 3 years experience performing industrial hygiene or safety responsibilities
