Your Role And Responsibilities

Role Profile

We are currently recruiting for an Azure Infrastructure Engineer - Level 3 to become a member of Neudesic’ s Managed Services Team. As a part of the team, you will report to the National Practice Director of Managed Services. You will manage and maintain Azure infrastructure for Managed Services customers. You will ensure the stability, maintenance and optimization of Client’s environments, providing support for complex issues. Effective communication with customers is key, along with participating in an on-call rotation for 24/7 support. You'll lead client projects to improve technology infrastructures, perform root cause analysis, and identify cross-selling opportunities. Additionally, you’ll maintain documentation, communicate project statuses, and mentor peers while pursuing ongoing training and certifications. Balancing priorities and adapting to customer needs will be crucial to your success.

Responsibilities Include

  • Be the trusted adviser to a client’s enterprise Azure Environment.
  • Ensure best practices and processes are utilized and optimized for Clients
  • Provide native Azure Infrastructure Operations (Run, KTLO, BAU, O&M, Steady State) support – including Technical and Functional – from service request tickets, incident tickets, and expected operational tasks.
  • Manage the health and hygiene of the infrastructure.
  • Identify and proactively fix issues before they are reported by users.
  • On-Call, from time to time, as needed.
  • Provide support during maintenance windows outside of normal working hours, from time to time, as needed.
  • Review daily/weekly/monthly reports and take necessary actions to mitigate the issues.
  • Act as an example – and leader – to peers and colleagues. Coordinate day-to-day work and tasks, as required, to facilitate effective and timely service delivery. Mentor and assist team members when needed.

As of February 9, 2022, Neudesic has been acquired by IBM and is now being integrated into the IBM organization. As a result, your recruitment process will be managed by IBM, which will also be the hiring entity.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study: Computer Science, Management Information Systems, etc., or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an Azure infrastructure operations role supporting client production environments. Minimum 1 year experience in a team lead position.
  • Experience in managing multiple client environments through a managed services delivery structure.
  • Thorough understanding of cloud computing: virtualization technologies, network principles, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud delivery models and the current competitive landscape.
  • Subject matter expertise in implementing, provisioning / deprovisioning, managing, and monitoring Azure infrastructure including: Azure Portal, Azure Partner Center, Azure Networking, Virtual Networks, Servers, Virtual Machines, Storage, Compute, Operating Systems, Identity, Security, and Governance.
  • Strong experience with the following: Azure Monitor, Azure Firewall, Azure Update Manager, DNS, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Site Recovery, Traffic Manager, Azure Policy, App Insights, Operations Management Suite, Azure SQL DBs, Azure Web Apps, Azure Gateways, Logic Apps, Function Apps, Azure Service Bus.
  • Strong background in support of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • IT Service Management mindset, with focus on customer’s desired outcomes to support business objectives.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership of an issue until resolution.
  • Capable of technical deep dives, utilizing critical thinking, to analyze and troubleshoot issues.
  • Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.

Certifications

  • AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
  • AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
  • At least one additional advanced Microsoft Azure certification, preferred in infrastructure (AZ-305), networking (AZ-700), security (AZ-500) or AI (AI-900)

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Having knowledge and or experience with the following are differentiators that will positively influence your application:

  • Azure Cost Management, Azure Security, Azure Policies, Azure Automation, ARM templates, API Gateway, Azure Entra ID.
  • Database management and/or software development within Azure.
  • Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
  • Conducting Azure Well Architected Framework (WAF) assessments.
  • Business Analyst (BA) and technical writing.
  • Scripting languages such as PowerShell, Ruby, Python, Bash.
  • Automation / configuration management / DevOps / Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD) using Azure Templates, JSON, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
  • Containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Other cloud models, specifically AWS and GCP.
  • Certifications: ITIL V4 Foundations

Salary : $141,000 - $243,000
