Basic Responsibilities:

In conformance with established policies and procedures, functions as a liaison between the members and the Credit Union. Interviews with existing and potential members in person or by telephone, and explain services, products and policies. Identifies members’ needs and desires and actively cross sells Credit Union services and products courteously and professionally.

Essential Functions:

1. May open new accounts for lending opportunities. Gathers all paperwork and data input accurately and assists the member with the signing of documents necessary to open new accounts. Verifies all new account and member information in accordance with OFAC requirements and eligibility rules.

2. Take loan requests from members in the branch, online or over the phone. Ability to work multiple loan requests in a timely and accurate manner.

3. Review credit reports identifying opportunities to cross-sell Credit Union lending products and services.

4. Processes and sends accurate completed loan applications for approval/denial on all loan requests for underwriting. Follows up with members on underwriting decisions in a timely manner. Gathers any additional items required by loan officer for decision.

5. Protects Credit Union in all collateralized loans by accurately establishing value. Handle title paperwork for loan requests.

6. General knowledge of laws and regulations that apply to all pertinent functions including lending.

7. Answers questions and solves problems for members and staff by listening, collecting data, finding answers and following up on details to resolve the matter to the inquiring party’s satisfaction. Offers alternative solutions whenever needed.

8. Familiar with CUDL and able to speak to members about it.

9. Educates members on appropriate way to handle credit.

10. The desire to expand his/her knowledge of organizational and departmental needs and requirements and take part in development and realization of organizational goals and objectives in accordance with established deadlines.

11. Initiative to seek out training and educational programs as assigned by management.

12. The ability to handle multiple tasks accurately.

13. Possession of excellent communication skills.

14. Must maintain confidentiality.

15. Other duties as assigned.

Specific Requirements:

1. The ability to remain calm in all situations.

2. Exceptional flexibility; the ability to change direction or tasks at the moment’s notice.

3. Ability to set work priorities and make effective decisions.

4. Willingness to openly communicate with Management.

5. Effectively defuse member complaints and offer resolutions consistent with Credit Union philosophy.

6. Excellent communication skills.

7. Knowledge of lending practices and ability to read credit reports.

Skills and Abilities Required:

Education: High school graduation required or GED Experience:

At least 1 year of experience lending and member service area of a financial institution, preferably a Credit Union.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
