IMC is currently hiring an Occupational Therapist (OT) for PRN positions. Under
the general supervision of the Director of Rehab Services, the Occupational Therapist
will evaluate patient needs, develop appropriate treatment plans, be
responsible for organizing and conducting medically necessary occupational
therapy to restore function, prevent disability, decrease pain, and promote
healing following disease, injury or sickness.
The Occupational therapist will help the patient reach his/her maximum
potential and assume a place in society while learning to live within the
limits of his/her capabilities. This
will be done in a variety of settings including outpatient, and inpatient. The therapist will need knowledge and
competency to provide care based on physical, psycho-social, education level,
and safety concerns for neonate, infant, toddler, adolescent, adult and
geriatric populations.
PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Evaluate patients

Treat patients
·
Monitor and assess patients
·
Supervise delivery of treatment to
patients
·
Reassess patients
·
Assist director of rehab with
development of policies and procedures
·
Assist with scheduling of patients
·
Documentation of patient care
·
Assist with daily operations of
outpatient and inpatient rehab services
WORK HOURS: Schedules
will fluctuate significantly based on patient volume and needs but normal hours
of delivery of occupational therapy services will be 8am –5pm Mon-Fri.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
EDUCATION
·
Minimum of a baccalaureate degree in
Occupational therapy from an accredited school.
2.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
·
Current valid Occupational Therapy
License in Louisiana, or a temporary permit granted by LSBME.
3.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
·
Successful completion of long term
clinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accredited
OT school, or one year of recent experience in inpatient, outpatient , or
Nursing home.
4.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
·
knowledge of OT delivery throughout
patient lifespan, neonate through geriatric.
·
Knowledge of outpatient therapy services
including delivery of modalities.
·
Knowledge of acute OT for inpatient
services.
·
Knowledge of home health OT services.
