· Enrolled in a Psy.D. or Ph.D. program and seeking to complete their pre-doctoral hours toward licensure, or
· Have completed their doctoral degree and are seeking to complete their post-doctoral hours toward licensure.

Medical psychology is a specialized area at the intersection of psychology and medicine. Medical psychologists work in healthcare settings, providing psychological assessment and treatment to patients with co-occurring psychological and medical conditions.
At IBEMED, psychological associates receive specialized training through IBEMED’s Medical Psychology Residency Program—one of the few such residencies in the country. This residency offers in-depth training in the core competencies of medical psychology, with sessions covering the following areas:
- Ethics and law
- Therapeutic approaches
- Neurocognitive evaluations
- Neuroscience
- Diagnostics
- Physiology
- Pathophysiology
- Pharmacology
- Psychopharmacology
- Research
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in a Ph.D. or Psy.D. program in Psychology, candidacy status, or program completion.
- Demonstrated experience in a clinical psychology or mental health setting
- Genuine interest in developing a long-term career in the field of medical psychology.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual psychotherapy services to outpatient clients using evidence-based treatment approaches
- Administer and score psychometric assessments as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes for each therapy session
- Participate in twice-weekly didactic residency training sessions
- Attend weekly individual clinical supervision meetings
- Travel to one designated clinic location per day (required)
IBEMED is a professional psychological corporation specializing in integrated medical psychology services within a variety of medical facilities. We operate clinics throughout Southern California, including Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.
Travel Requirement:
Psychological Associates are required to travel to one designated clinic per day. Clinic assignments may vary based on patient needs and scheduling adjustments.
