At IB International, we design and build custom industrial fans, blowers, and engineered air and gas moving solutions that keep some of the world’s toughest operations running reliably. Since 1978 we’ve partnered with OEMs, EPCs, and process plants across North America, and we’re now looking for the right sales engineer to help us grow.
We’re hiring a Technical Sales Engineer who understands both deep technical knowledge and customer-focused sales. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cary, Illinois. It is a true hybrid role where you’ll translate complex application requirements into engineered solutions while also building long-term relationships and driving revenue.
What You’ll Do
- Engage directly with customers to understand technical needs, applications, and project objectives
- Qualify leads, develop accurate technical proposals/quotations, and close opportunities
- Act as the primary technical point of contact: managing quotes, delivery updates, design reviews, and ongoing communication
- Partner with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure solutions are feasible, optimized, and delivered on time
- Support prototypes, testing, and post-sale technical issues
- Track your pipeline in CRM and help shape account growth strategies
- Identify cost-saving or performance-enhancing alternatives that deliver real value
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering (or equivalent)
- 5 years in technical sales, applications engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
- Strong Communication skills for explaining technical solutions and building client relationships
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable juggling multiple projects
- Knowledge of air and gas moving solutions or similar industries is a plus
