What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Underwriting Support position at IAT Insurance Group?

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Underwriting Support Supervisor to work out of our Scottsdale, Arizona location to provide day-to-day oversite for Account Managers within the Underwriting Support unit.

Underwriting Support consists of a team of production-oriented, customer-centric, problem-solving, detail-driven Account Managers. The ideal candidate will have experience leading, coaching, and developing individuals. Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership to assigned staff by leading organizational change; developing and empowering staff; cultivating relationships; putting staff in a position to succeed, meeting their personal career goals while also achieving organizational goals; building effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; driving engagement and creating a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.
Oversees training and quality product output of account management staff.
Coordinates work to meet production and service expectations.
Drives engagement and creates a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.
Conducts performance evaluations, coaching conversations, team meetings and individual one on ones with staff.
Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must Have:

Bachelors’ degree or equivalent,

The equivalent is defined as 7 years of relevant insurance experience.

3 years of insurance experience with some leadership exposure.
Knowledge of Underwriting Support processes and procedures.
Experience in rating and policy issuance platforms, as well as system testing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work throughout the organization at different levels.
Effective written and verbal communication skills used for interaction with all levels of associates and/or external sources in a variety of settings.
To qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes.

Preferred To Have

1 years of coaching, leading and/or supervisory experience.
5 years of experience as an Account Manager or Assistant Underwriter.
