Job Opportunity: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Evening Shift

Position Overview
Billing Type: Hourly
Shift: Evening (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
Duration: Minimum of 3 months (Projected)
Schedule Notes: Includes weekends and rotating days off; mandatory overtime may be required based on facility needs.
Key Responsibilities
As an LPN, you will provide skilled nursing care within the scope of practice set forth by the Ohio Revised Code (4723.01). Your duties will include:
Clinical Care: Administer medications (oral, topical, rectal, and injectable), perform wound irrigation and sterile dressing changes, insert catheters, and monitor dialysis treatments.
Patient Monitoring: Observe and document patient conditions, reactions to medications, and progress. Maintain accurate Medication Accountability Records (MARs) and patient charts.
Direct Support: Assist patients with daily living activities (hygiene, grooming, repositioning) and respond to patient alarms or emergencies, including CPR and first aid.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance, orientation, and training to lower-level direct care staff such as aides and attendants.
Administrative Duties: Maintain a clean and stocked nursing station/medication cart, order supplies, and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensure: Current, valid license to practice as an LPN issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
Certification: Proof of completion of an approved course in Medication Administration.
Specialty Note: If administering dialysis, you must possess Certification in IV Therapy per ORC 4723.17.
Basic Skills: Proficiency in CPR, first aid, and the use of medical equipment (e.g., oxygen, blood pressure cuffs, respirators).
Preferred Characteristics:
Strong ability to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
Excellent rapport-building skills with patients and residents.
Physical strength to move, reposition, or restrain patients as necessary.
Working Conditions
Exposure to bodily fluids and infectious diseases.
Interaction with unpredictable patient behavior.
Potential travel to community sites under contract with the Department of Mental Health or Developmental Disabilities.
