Behavioral Health Program Manager

PAY: $30-$36 HOURLY

8AM-4PM

Responsibilities:

• Administrator of the medical record data center for a psychiatric Hospital, overseeing 3-7 staff
• Plan, develop, and administer health information system for his/her health care facility consistent with standards of accrediting and regulatory agencies and requirements of health care system
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for documenting, storing, and retrieving information, and for processing medical-legal documents, insurance data, and correspondence requests, in conformance with federal, state, and local statutes
• Supervise staff, directly or through subordinates, in preparing and analyzing medical documents
• Participate in development and design of computer software for computerized health information system
• Coordinate medical care evaluation with medical staff and develop criteria and methods for such evaluation
• Develop in-service educational materials and conduct instructional programs for health care personnel
• Analyze patient data for reimbursement, facility planning, quality of patient care, risk management, utilization management, and research
• Manage medical records department and be known as the ‘custodian’ of medical records
• Monitor non-electronic medical record files and reports for file security, confidentiality and standardization
• Medical data center’s conformity with internal HIPAA’s requirements for safety and security of clinical data
• Ability to train the staff members and know how to conduct them
• Engage in effective and harmonious work relationships with other legal and professional staffs as well as his peers and the general public
• Being conversant with data-specific computer and other applications
• Responding to evolving standards in healthcare data management

Qualifications:

• Certified Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
• Certified coder credentialed by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (CPC)
• This position requires standing, lifting, bending, repetitive filing, computer use and lifting up to 50 lbs
