Senior Electrical Designer

IAC
Overland Park, KS Full Time
POSTED ON 3/23/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/18/2026

Position Overview

Industrial Accessories Company (IAC) is looking for a skilled, driven, and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to join our Engineering team and help power the next generation of industrial air pollution control, dust collection, and bulk material handling systems across North America.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, design, and problem-solving. The Electrical Designer II plays a critical part in transforming engineering concepts into accurate, buildable, and reliable electrical systems. You’ll collaborate closely with electrical engineers, project managers, fabricators, and field teams to ensure every design meets safety standards, aligns with project specifications, and delivers long-term operational performance for our customers.

You will support the full lifecycle of design — from initial concept layouts to final drawing packages — applying your drafting expertise, technical understanding, and strong organizational skills. Your work will help bring complex engineered systems to life, whether it’s a custom control panel, a facility-scale filtration system, or automation equipment used in major industrial operations.

If you're looking for a role where your technical creativity matters, where attention to detail is valued, and where your work directly contributes to large-scale engineered solutions, IAC offers a dynamic and rewarding environment to grow your career.

  • Organize, develop, and maintain drawing sets, engineering documents, and bills of materials.
  • Support Electronic Document Control processes including transmittals, revision control, and version tracking.
  • Prepare and assemble complete electrical drawing packages for internal teams and external clients.

Project & Support Activities

  • Participate in internal and external project meetings to ensure design alignment, clarity, and timely communication.
  • Assist with purchase order requests, change order requests, and inventory support.
  • Gather and organize quotes from vendors, evaluating specifications and component options.

  • Support quality inspections of fabricated electrical panels, verifying alignment with drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electrical Design, Drafting Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or engineering support role.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD platforms required.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, wiring practices, and control panel design principles.
