The Role

As a Trade Compliance Manager at iA, you will be a pivotal member of iA’s Supply Chain Team, responsible for our overall Trade Compliance Program. This role will establish, document, train, and execute a trade compliance program that aligns with all applicable U.S. Customs regulations. This position will manage both import and export compliance processes and associated record keeping. This role will be an organizational subject matter expert with respect to import & export regulations affecting pharmacy fulfillment automation hardware and software products. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders—including Engineering, Procurement, Shipping, Sales, Legal, etc. to properly classify products for both import and export purposes. You will ensure that all import & export paperwork is correctly completed including import clearance documents, commercial invoices, and freight documentation. This position will be the primary relationship owner for our brokers & international freight carriers. In addition to international trade this position will be responsible for ensuring compliance and reporting related to our Government Small Business Subcontracting plan.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, implement, and manage trade compliance policies and procedures in accordance with U.S. and international regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all import and export laws, and U.S. Customs regulations.
  • Oversee denied party screening, licensing, and export documentation processes.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and vendors to ensure proper product classification (HTS, Schedule B), valuation, Country of Origin, and related documentation.
  • Determine export control codes (ECCN or EAR99) for our export shipments.
  • Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of export paperwork to support international shipments.
  • Manage interactions with U.S. Customs, SBA and other regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments related to trade compliance.
  • Train internal staff on compliance processes and regulatory changes.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports required for government filings and audits.
  • Support government contracting requirements, including compliance with Small Business Subcontracting Plans and reporting.
  • Monitor changes in trade regulations and advise leadership on necessary updates to policies.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 5 years of trade compliance experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. import/export laws (EAR, USMCA).
  • Proficient in ERP systems and trade compliance-related master data.
  • Experience in developing, refining, documenting, and training trade compliance processes.
  • Experience in government contracting compliance (FAR,DFARS).
  • Familiarity with Small Business Subcontracting Plans and related reporting obligations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create impactful presentations and reports.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing business priorities in a fast-paced technology company.
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of financial impacts related to trade compliance.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed.

Even Better If You Have

  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA) or certifications such as Licensed Customs Broker or International Trade Certification.
  • Experience working directly with Customs & Border Protection (CBP).
  • Familiarity with preferential trade programs (e.g.,USMCA).
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, material specifications, and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Experience with SQL and database query writing, leveraging data to support decision-making.

Compensation

The estimated base annual salary range for this position is $91,108.00 to $123,136.00, though a candidate’s base annual salary shall be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience. This position may additionally be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
