Employment Type: Part time Shift: Description: Responds to ambulance calls and provides patient care. Performs vehicle maintenance and assists in the Emergency Room. What you will Do: Provides patient care. Maintains positive public image. Performs vehicle maintenance: Checks vehicles and performs maintenance or reports to head mechanic. Provides documentation on patient care after each ambulance call and in ER as needed. Transports sick or injured persons to hospital, or convalescents to destination, avoiding sudden motions detrimental to patients. Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures. Hours/Schedule: .001 FTE; PRN/Registry hours will vary; requires weekend and holiday rotation; typical shift 7:00pm-7:00am but hours can vary. Minimum Qualifications: Certified Iowa EMT Valid IA Class C driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) BLS, Mandatory Reporter. (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI) within 6 months of hire.) Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians while performing their job duties. Intermediate language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability. Ability to work with diverse groups of people; ability to work under pressure. Must pass pre-hire physical agility test. Ability to take direction.
