Registered Nurse NICU

Employment Type: Part time Shift: Night Shift Description: Hours: 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m., every 3rd weekend, every other Holiday JOB SUMMARY This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards. NICU Nurse is specifically responsible for the care of the well and ill newborn who may require neonatal intensive care services. Birth Center and Pediatrics are considered "sister" units and staff are expected to float between these units. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa or recent RN graduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred Experience Previous experience in well or ill newborn, and/or obstetric care and/or acute care preferred. Special Skills and Competencies: Preferred certification in low risk neonatal nursing care / professional certification in related to clinical specialty (from the Magnet approved certifications) Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs. Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.
