Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Medical Social Worker I position accepts the responsibility and accountability for addressing psychosocial, financial, emotional, and environmental factors as they relate to patient health and discharge planning needs. This includes, but is not limited to, Advance Directive issues, patient/family advocacy and coordination of community resources, while maintaining professional social work standards. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education [formal]: Current Iowa LBSW required Bachelor in Social Work required (Masters in social work degree preferred) Experience: One to three years professional social work experience preferred. Previous experience in acute care preferred. Special Skills and Competencies: Computer skills include Word, Excel, Cerner Power Chart Ability to effectively communicate, establishes professional relationships, and work effectively as a team member. Demonstrated ability to operate in a collaborative, shared leadership environment Able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to change High degree of initiative and judgment Ability to effectively communicate and maintain professional relationships with wide variety of individuals.
