Employment Type: Full time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: JOB SUMMARY The Clinical pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medications. He/she provides expertise on drug therapy initiation and monitoring to all customer groups served by MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, working collaboratively with other health care professionals to devise the most appropriate drug treatment for patients. The role of the clinical pharmacist sometimes extends outside the hospital, sharing their specialized knowledge with other hospitals, clinics, and care settings. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education [formal]: 1. Completion of the requirements for a Pharm.D. required. 2. Iowa Pharmacist licensure, either by examination or reciprocity, is required B. Experience 1. Demonstrated competence in pharmacy for 2-3 years, focusing on the provision of pharmaceutical care is required. 2. Residency training and/or certification in area related to practice site is preferred. 3. Demonstrated competence in previous clinical practice is preferred. C. Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes 1. Supervisory and planning abilities. 2. Excellent written and oral communication skills X Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
